Dr. S. K. Verma, M.D., Ph.D., D.Sc. had been the Chief Investigator, Indigenous Drug Research Centre, Dept. of Medicine, R.N.T. Medical College, Udaipur and also served Department of Medicine, Pacific Medical College & Hospital, Udaipur as Professor & Head. Currently, he is working as Professor Emeritus, Department of Medicine, Pacific Medical University and Editor-in-chief of Pacific Journal of Medical and Health Sciences.
Dr. Verma has significantly contributed in the field of Medicinal Plant Research in experimental atherosclerosis model in animals and on coronary risk parameters in man with Coronary Artery Disease for 40 years. He is founder president of Society for Microvita Research and Integrated Medicine (SMRIM), Udaipur.
He has received many prestigious awards. To cite a few, Gargi Devi Shurvir Singh Award for the best research paper published amongst all medical colleges of Rajasthan during 1985-86 and 1989; Rabindranath Tagore Oration 2006 by Association of Physicians of India; Eminent Scientist of the Year 2007 by NESA; Medical Scientist Award 2013 by S.V.Singh Trust; Lifetime Achievement Award- for Research, 2016 by IFEE, Kolkata; Honorary D.Litt UNUGP-USA, 2018; International Life Time Achievement Award for Research 2023 (Dr. N.C. Jain Award); Blackbuck Pioneer Research Award 2024 and Life Time Achievement Award-Medical Research 2025.
He has published more than 140 research articles in National and International Journals with Citation 3548, H-index 27 and i10-index 32. He has written two books; authored six chapters and handled research projects financed by ICMR, Danish Development Agency (DANIDA), Denmark and Spice Board of India, Cochin. He is a life member of 32 scientific bodies, has been awarded Fellowships by 16 scientific organizations and invited as a speaker in 41 International and National conferences. He is member of Editorial board of many reputed National and International Journals.
